Protibandhi Kallan Somiti (PKS) is grassroots Disabled People’s Organization (DPO) working in Mymensingh district of Bangladesh. This DPO is mainly working in the remote areas of Muktagachha upazila (sub-district). In early 2005, a group of persons with disabilities including women and girls with disabilities organized themselves with leadership of Md. Rafiqul Islam, a person with physical disability.
Following the marginalization and hardcore poverty in the families of the persons with disabilities, PKS has different activities on raising awareness on disability and inclusion, local level advocacy and networking, inclusive education, employment of persons with disabilities, handicraft by the women and girls with disabilities. PKS is also participating in different activities and projects of the government and non-government agencies.
